🛠️ How to Transfer a Domain from Another Registrar to AmbitionHost
Transferring your domain to AmbitionHost is a quick and secure process. This guide will walk you through each step to ensure your domain moves smoothly from your current registrar to your AmbitionHost account.
🔧 1. Prepare the Domain at the Current Registrar
Before starting the transfer, you need to unlock your domain and obtain important information from your current registrar. Follow these steps:
✅ a) Unlock the Domain (Disable Registrar Lock)
Most registrars keep your domain “locked” to prevent unauthorized transfers.
- Log in to your current domain registrar account (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, BigRock).
- Go to your domain management or settings page.
- Look for an option named Domain Lock, Registrar Lock, or Transfer Lock.
- Turn this setting OFF. This allows the domain to be eligible for transfer.
🔐 A locked domain cannot be transferred.
✅ b) Obtain the EPP Code / Authorization Code
This is a secret code that confirms you’re the owner of the domain and authorizes the transfer.
Copy this code. You will need to enter it on the AmbitionHost domain transfer page.
In your domain dashboard, look for EPP Code, Auth Code, or Transfer Key.
Request it if it’s not directly visible—some registrars send it via email.
c) Disable WHOIS Privacy Protection (Optional but Recommended)
Some registrars offer WHOIS privacy, which hides your domain’s admin contact details.
You can re-enable this feature later via your AmbitionHost panel after the transfer is complete.
Temporarily disable WHOIS protection so that the confirmation email reaches your real email address.
✅ d) Verify Domain Eligibility
Make sure your domain is eligible to transfer:
Domain must be older than 60 days.
Domain must not have been transferred in the past 60 days.
Domain must be in Active status—not suspended or serverhold.
2. Start the Transfer on AmbitionHost
Once your domain is ready for transfer, follow these steps:

Go to: https://ambitionhost.in/transfer/
📝 Enter Your Domain Details
- Type your domain name (e.g.,
example.com) in the search box. - Provide the EPP/Auth Code when prompted.
🛒 Add to Cart and Checkout
- Proceed to checkout and make the payment.
- You’ll receive confirmation of your transfer request via email.
💡 Transferring your domain also renews it for 1 additional year.
📧 3. Approve the Transfer via Email
After placing your order, one important step remains:
A confirmation email will be sent to the domain’s admin contact email address (as listed in the WHOIS record).
Click the approval link in that email to verify and approve the transfer.
If you do not approve the email, the transfer will be delayed.
🔎 If you didn’t receive the email, double-check whether WHOIS privacy is still active or if the email address is correct.
⏳ 4. Wait for Transfer Completion
The domain will appear in your AmbitionHost Client Area, where you can manage DNS and other settings.
After you approve the transfer, it usually completes within 5 to 7 days.
You will get an email confirmation once your domain is successfully moved.
